GIOIA di Luisa Conventi

Fine craft costume jewellery in Venice

Only a short distance from the  Venice railway station, in Calle Priuli 100 is the artisan workshop “GIOIA”, where Luisa Conventi together with her six collaborators carry on a tradition start by her grandfather Ferenaz in the early 1950’s.

The artisan workshop made of local features, used in part as a museum, is located near the Venice railway station.

Luisa Conventi and her staff create collections of glass jewels, where the predominant element is glass pearls and the small pearls obtained from  cutting the glass rods called “conterie”, and fashion accessories that are exported around the world to stylists and department stores.

Each year Gioia organises an event “Festa de le Impiratesse” where the new collection is presented.

This year it took place in the splendid Chiostro dell’Archivio di Stato di Venezia, in an atmosphere where style and elegance traced back to the 1950’s, with jewellery created on the theme of the four elements.
