There are places where going out for a meal also means treating yourself to a moment of relaxation, taking in your surroundings and letting the landscape captivate you. La Fonte Ristorante Pizzeria, in Monasterolo del Castello, is one such place: a spot nestled amongst greenery, overlooking Lake Endine and surrounded by the mountains of the Val Cavallina.

At La Fonte, the cuisine is rooted in tradition whilst also embracing more contemporary offerings. The menu features dishes from the Bergamo region, specialities featuring fish from the lake and the sea, as well as meat-based dishes.
Great care is taken in selecting ingredients, with a particular focus on local and seasonal produce. The menu changes according to what is in season, with the aim of serving fresh ingredients and celebrating the changing seasons. And to round off the meal, there are homemade desserts, ranging from traditional recipes to more original creations.

The culinary offering extends beyond the restaurant’s cuisine. La Fonte is also a pizzeria, with a wide selection of pizzas and its signature ‘scrocchiarelle’, prepared to order and cooked in a wood-fired oven. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the scrocchiarelle are one of the restaurant’s signature specialities and are particularly well suited to sharing.
Rounding off the dining experience is a wine list with a strong local focus, featuring wines from Valcalepio, Franciacorta sparkling wines and a selection of wines from various Italian regions.

Choosing La Fonte also means having the chance to combine lunch or dinner with exploring Lake Endine and the Val Cavallina. The area invites you to stroll along the lake, go trekking and hiking, or try water-based activities such as pedalos. For those who love water sports, there are also opportunities for windsurfing and canoeing.

It is therefore the perfect destination for a short day trip: a few hours in the countryside, a stroll by the lake, and then a meal with views of the surrounding landscape.
