TOUR OF THE 4 DOLOMITIC PASSES: EVENTS NOT TO BE MISSED IN EARLY SUMMER.

When we talk about the Tour of the 4 Dolomitic Passes, we cannot fail to mention the Sellaronda Bike Day. This event, now in its 17th edition, allows cycling enthusiasts to complete the tour of the 4 passes without motorized traffic.

On June 24th, the Dolomites Bike Day, takes place, a 51 km loop around Mount Lagazuoi, including 3 passes with a total ascent of 1370 meters. Here, both experienced and novice cyclists take to the legendary roads, which are often included in the Giro d'Italia.

The journey starts from Passo Falzarego, a climb that connects Cortina d'Ampezzo to the Alto Agordino area. The ascent is just over 16 km long, with an average gradient of 5% and a total ascent of 1119 meters. The gradients, never too steep, allow you to enjoy the landscape. Next is Passo Valparola, a climb that is as short as it is spectacular. Compared to Falzarego, its length is noticeably shorter. The Valparola area allows you to cross impressive rocky environments, sheer cliffs, and endless stretches of rock.
On the other hand, Passo Campolongo is only 6 kilometres long, with an average gradient of 5% and a mere 307 meters of ascent. Its gradients are never excessive, and the only challenge you might encounter is its exposure to the sun, which could make the route hotter than expected.
On July 2nd, it's time for the Maratona delle Dolomiti.

It's a competitive cycling race divided into three courses: the 138 km Maratona Course, the 106 km Medium Course, and the 55 km Sellaronda Course. The first course is the most demanding, starting from La Villa and passing through Corvara, taking cyclists to Passo Campolongo. The second course, slightly shorter, has more or less the same stages, while the third course is by far the easiest. With only 55 km, it is non-competitive and has no official ranking or awards.

These are the most famous events of the Tour of the 4 Dolomitic Passes. Many people can enjoy the landscape and the charm of these mountains, considered the most beautiful on Earth.
